1 serving
- 1 big pear or 3-4 small pears, seeded, peeled and chopped
- 3-4 little squares plain chocolate, chopped
- Veggie margarine
- 4 slices tin loaf, crust removed
This little pears came from a relative’s tree. Their sourness wasn’t so good in this recipe. Better if you choose the classical, medium-sized pear with the brown skin (the Kaiser).
Put the pear and a little bit of margarine into a frying pan. Cook for about 4-5 minutes and add the chocolate squares.
Place the slices of tin loaf into a greased pudding mould, covering all its surface. Add the pears and cover with another slice of loaf.
Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C (400° F/Gas Mark 6) until golden brown. Serve warm.
Not yet satisfied with the caloric content of this cake, I added some liquid chocolate (bought in Scandinavia and surprisingly vegan) on top. It is not compulsory but, as far as I’m concerned, a sprinkling of caramel would taste good…
